about us (me)

Deegan Graphics is a one man operation. I will refrain from trying to garner undue credibility by making it sound as though it is a huge conglomerate of designers, directors and deal makers by omitting the pronoun "we" from this diatribe.

We (I mean, I) haven't won any awards, nor do I aspire to. If an award came my way, that would be all right but what really motivates me is making people happy. When a client comes to me with a need, I meet it, they are happy and I am happy.

My wife and mom were happy when I got my degree and if the degree dictates what kind of job I should have...then....I am an architect! I am not technical enough to be an architecht. Architects are cool but I am not one. Not even close. Neither is George. He is a marine biologist. If you're lost on the Seinfeld reference then let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

I am good at taking direction from clients and I enjoy working alone. I am not affiliated with any design guild, media network, or artist agency. I do not advertise yet I get lots of work. People that like my work tell other people to use me. In fact, this has been my best year since I got into this 4 years ago... so I guess people are talking. I love what I do.

I love God and I believe in Jesus Christ. I love people. I love my family. I have two beautiful daughters that I am Mr. Mom to on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I do not work (design) on those days. I will work at night on those days, but I have recently discovered that my full attention is needed by my girls during "normal" business hours. When Dad is solely in charge of a 3 year old and a 3 month old, multi-tasking is essential, but not cross-platform. In other words I do not mix business with the pleasure of spoiling - I mean raising - my two girls. I have tried to work and baby sit before and might try again - but will probably get discouraged when the milk bottle that I am trying to prop up in the baby's mouth [while I single handedly (literally) try to update a client's website] comes loose and spills on the keyboard... again. Since I am obviously only given enough grace for that day's task then I must try to concentrate on babies on baby days and work on work days. If I try to mesh the two then one of the two jobs will suffer. And I don't want neglected kids or unhappy clients. All this to say that on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays I am 100% designer. If you call on Wednesdays or Thursdays you might find yourself in a heated, yet muffled, phone debate with the 3 year old about who the best Disney princess is. Be warned. Email is better anyway.

I think I'd better disclose one final thing. I must say that I am feeling sort of inferior to my lovely wife because she makes more money than I do. Please help even things out a bit by hiring me. This would help to create happiness and harmony in the household. Thanks for visiting.
